Two voices, one room — the second album takes shape
‘Czule’ and ‘Hologram’ are out on Youtube, and they are the first two pieces of where CZART goes next.
Something shifted between the first album and this one. On Czarty Polskie, the recordings and the AI tools were braided together at every level. On the second album we pulled them apart on purpose, and drew a hard line down the middle — so you can hear exactly what is human and exactly what is not.
Here is what is human: the playing. Drums, guitars, bass — all performed by hand, on real instruments, in the room where we actually rehearse. Not generated, not assembled from samples: played, tracked, and worked the way a record gets made — take by take, fixing what needs fixing, until it's right. A home studio, four walls, instruments and amps. With ‘Hologram’ we let you watch part of that process — we put out the raw live rehearsal version first, unpolished, before the finished video, so the work wouldn't be hidden.
And here is the other human thing, easy to miss: Monika’s voice. On some of these songs she sings, and what you hear is exactly that — a real person, her own voice. She is the human counter-voice on this record.
Against her stands Czartificial — the lead, generated, artificial, and meant to be. That contrast is the whole design now: a human voice and a non-human voice in the same song, answering each other. One sings from inside the room with us. The other is the thing that has no body and borrows one — the czart, a spirit that shapes a voice out of nothing in order to be heard. Polish folklore imagined that creature a long time ago; Tuwim wrote it down a century back. What no one had done was give it a real voice. That part is ours: we took the old idea and made the devil actually speak — not like a person, but as itself.
So that's the shape of album two: live, human playing; Monika’s human voice on the songs that call for it; and Czartificial, the artificial tongue, kept exactly where it belongs — at the front, unhidden, the point rather than the secret.
‘Czule’ and ‘Hologram’ are the first signals. There is more on the way, and the people on the mailing list will hear it first — direct, with no platform in between.
